The short version
The seating chart tools run entirely in your browser. The names you enter, your table layout and your keep-apart rules are saved to your own device using browser local storage. They are not transmitted to us and we never receive a copy of your guest list or class list.
Information you enter into the tools
- Where it is stored: in your browser's local storage, on your device only.
- Who can see it: anyone with access to that browser profile on that device. We cannot see it.
- How to delete it: use the Reset button in the tool, or clear site data for this domain in your browser settings.
- Retention: it stays until you delete it. We do not control it and cannot delete it for you.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server request data such as IP address, browser type, referring page and time of request. This is used for security and aggregate traffic measurement.
We may use privacy-focused analytics to understand which pages are used. Where analytics are in use, they measure page views and general usage patterns, not the contents of your seating charts.
Cookies and advertising
This site is supported by advertising and may display ads served by third-party networks, including Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, and you can opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Where required by law, a consent banner will ask for your permission before non-essential cookies are set.
Children, your rights, and changes to this policy
This site is intended for adults, including teachers who may enter student names into the classroom tool. Because those names remain on the teacher's own device and are never transmitted to us, we do not receive or store information about children.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. Because the data you enter into the tools never reaches us, in most cases there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase — you can delete it yourself at any time by clearing site data. If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new last-updated date.
